Introduction to British Literature

授業の目標（講義概要）

授業計画

This will be a survey course of the major eras, genres, authors, and texts which comprise British Literature. The class format will be lecture, and note-taking skills will be reviewed. We will be concentrating on major elements, literary trends, and texts in British literature. We will begin with an outline of main literary movements and then move on to the big four: Chaucer, Spenser, Shakespeare, and Milton.

評価方法

Students are graded on two examinations, a mid-term worth 50% toward final grade and a final examination worth 75% toward final grade. (Students may use notebooks and dictionaries during an exam.)
